| Harold Alegria-Ortiz arrived in Montreal in 1988 after having wandered through Banana Republics for twenty years. His acquaintance with Cassirer's theories brought him close to Michael Alstad and the Symbiosis collective with whom he has collaborated in various projects. Mr. Alegria-Ortiz is currently working on a piece that explores the biological substrate evident in hierarchical structures, social atavisms, caste divisions, and the strategies to accrue wealth practiced by bees, termites, ants and humans. |
