Born in 1970, lives in Toronto. Steve Topping is a self taught painter and installation artist who exhibits primarily in alternative spaces. Other projects: Reading Canada Backwards: his first film - screened at Hopital Ephemere in Paris and will be screened at the Vancouver film Festival in October 8th and 12th, 1997. Listen With Your Feet a video about taking the subway with Gabe West and the artist. The video explores public space from a perspective that has no sterotype for normalacy. Steve is currently working on memory based paintings made of concrete, plaster,line and beeswax. The images are expansions from still image based memory to more time based memory.
