| Lewis
Kaye Lewis Kaye has been involved in sound construction and presentation since his early days in high school. The central feature of his practice has been a fascination with the intersections of technology and sound. This is coupled with a philosophical approach which stresses collaboration and community. To this end, Lewis has been involved with several community radio stations through the 1990s (CHRY in North York, CKCU in Ottawa, and KWVA in Eugene, OR) as DJ/producer/programmer. His experiences as technical coordinator at CHRY spurred Lewis into the realm of MIDI and electroacoustic composition, while his academic work solidified his dedication to the principles of democratic communication. Aside from the odd DJ gig, his musical labours revolve around P R O J E C T, a collaboration with Prasad Bidaye. Lewis is currently a Doctoral Candidate in Communication Studies at the University of Oregon, and works as Access Coordinator at the InterAccess Electronic Media Arts Centre in Toronto.
