BIO
MARIS MEZULIS is an artist, photographer & filmmaker based in
Toronto,
Canada. He studied Film & Video at York University in Toronto
and works as
cinematographer, editor and director of shorts and design-films.
Mezulis has been building an image database since 1994 and has played
designer and art director on projects ranging from poster campaigns
to musical events. The company 3test2 was founded in August 2002
to undertake creative research, experimentation and production.
Employed as graphic designer at Bruce Mau Design since 1999, Mezulis
held a
lead position in shaping the technological infrastructure of the
company. He
has made creative and technical contributions to video installations,
exhibitions, books, websites, graphic identities, textile designs,
cultural programming, retail designs, advertising, research exercises
and image-intensive projects.
As designer and technical director of the video installations STRESS
(2000)
and Tokyo Countdown (2001), Mezulis has worked with the MAK in Vienna,
the
Gulbenkian in Lisbon, the Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery in
Toronto
and the Mori Art Center in Tokyo
